Our mission

ILPS is a not-for-profit organization aimed at:

• uniting professionals and persons interested in science, technology and the business community,
• promoting the cooperation and exchange of ideas at international level between scientists and technologists,
• promoting research activities at international level,
• distributing knowledge about the Lecithin & Phospholipid field,
• inspiring public interest and understanding for the Lecithin & Phospholipid field,
• awarding distinctions for outstanding scientific performance.

Our purpose

ILPS pursues solely and directly non-profit purposes in the sense defined under "subject to tax relief" of the German Fiscal Code. ILPS engages without any self-interest and pursues purposes that are not primarily for its own profit.

ILPS Anti-trust rules

The ILPS Members shall not enter into any discussion, activity or conduct that may infringe, on its part or on the part of its members, any applicable competition law. By way of example, participants shall not discuss, communicate or exchange any commercial sensitive information, including non-public information related to prices, process, marketing and advertising strategy, costs and revenues, trading terms and conditions with third parties, including purchasing strategy, terms of supply, trade programmes or distribution strategy. This applies not only to discussion in Formal meetings but also to informal discussions before, during and after meetings, emails, etc.

Our goals

• To promote standardization of materials and analytical methodology for Lecithin & Phospholipids,
• to organize and sponsor conventions, symposia, educational courses and ring trials (round robins),
• to issue specialized relevant literature, position papers and newsletters,
• to form working groups/divisions,
• to work together with comparable scientific organisations, particularly by interacting with institutions needing information on the description and analysis of lecithin and phospholipids,
• to engage in public relations and external affairs,
• to manage research projects,
• to further promote the interaction with various institutions desiring a description and analysis of lecithin and phospholipids,
• to promote the possibility of regulatory acceptance of definitions and analytical methodology for lecithin and phospholipids into various textbooks, pharmaceutical monographs and legal regulations through the format of revisions and/or new entries,
• to advise the academic and industrial sectors as well as regulatory agencies with regard to lecithin and phospholipids,
• to evaluate occurring technical problems and propose an action plan for solutions,
• to sponsor seminars and colloquia as well as issue position papers, primary publications, and newsletters to further enhance the communication of information,
• to promote the commercialization of lecithin, phospholipids and the resulting products containing these components. This would be accomplished by having an active role in addressing academic, industrial and regulatory concerns such as the safety and toxicological aspects of these compounds, to lobby on behalf of the interests in these raw materials in order to promote research, development, and education with their involvement.
